August started off with a bang, much the same as July with an incredible number of very impressive fish, and some not so great days as well, but that is what fishing is all about.  The weather was balmy and HOT and the rainfall was almost nonexistent.  Giant Yellowfins were hooked all month and the Marlin were in the picture as well.  Bay charters produced Roosterfish and smaller Yellowfin Tuna and all in all the month of August was one to remember.  If you are not a Jimmy Buffett fan then turn off your speakers, Phil in PV LOVES Jimmy Buffett. 

This is Dylan Woschenko from New Jersey and Phil has awarded him the title 'Phil's Fisherman of the Month'.  Dylan is a very experienced fisherman despite his 9 years of age.  He single-handedly hooked and fought this 8 pound Roosterfish and the 8 pound Dorado as well.  The Woschenko family spent 2 days on the SOL with Captain Miguel and Mom had hoped to set a world record for a Rooster on 2 pound test.  Not this year, but we will be seeing this group again very soon.
